Bowling alley is very old and off the grid, but the staff is great! Super friendly and accommodating. They are a smaller alley, but i liked the intimate feel.Prices are competitive for Madison. I will be back.

It may not be their policy, but when one employee promises a refund for something, it's on the business establishment to honor that employee's word and use it as a learning opportunity for both them and the customer in future transactions.

We were told by one employee that we would receive a refund for games we didn't play. When we went to leave, the "General Manager" told us that it isn't their policy to give refunds, and refused to do so.

Congratulations, Village Lanes, you successfully offended a party of 8 people who will now speak poorly about your business, and never return.

Bowling good. Food ok. Service could be friendlier. We were scolded for entering through main entrance because there was a bean bag tournement that we obviously knew nothing about.

You have to pay for your games before you bowl. This can be a problem if something comes up and you're not finished, or possibly someone has to leave early. I'm sure they can figure things out in such a situation, but is an uncommon thing at most bowling alleys. The lanes felt alright during my last visit, possibly even a bit too slick according to another friend who's more experienced(I was quite rusty, and still no where near as good when I wasn't rusty). They do have a smoking room which is nice if you smoke, specifically during the winter. But this room also has an entrance that leads indoors, so the smoke can waft back into the alley even towards the far wall from where it's located. I'm usually not that bothered by a little smoke from someone outside, but the amount that wafted in about half way down the alley or more when we were about to leave was a bit much.

If you want to support a business that is willing to damage their reputation with horrible customer service, and an argumentitive manager over $35, Village Lanes is the place to go.

This bowling alley has been a fixture here since my parents moved to the neighborhood with me when I was young over 30 years ago. There’s a bowling alley with a bar and many lanes on both sides of the bar. Nothing fancy or out of the ordinary here but there’s no need at a bowling alley. Great place lots of fun.
