Honestly I don't know who helped with my family. But I just want to say that I have never been disrespected so much at a funeral home in my life. My sister in law unexpectedly passed from domestic violence. Meaning there was no preparation for her death. We aren't rich people so to have money for a $10000 funeral, which is a dumb cost anyway, was not up our ally. But instead of being understanding of the time, no one at gunderson helped. Didn't offer anything to help pay and we had to come up with money. Plus they limited the people and time that we could have. Which is a terrible way to say good bye to a loved one. Plus the person who was helping with us was in such a hurry and such and did not seem at all concerned or had any empathy whatsoever. We could barely have all my sister in laws kids there. We have a huge family. Also the funeral home people said that we couldn't do a payment plan because "families sometimes forget so we just don't do that." Well yeah duh it's a rough time. Right after I heard that I told my mother in law she made a terrible mistake by going there. I just. I can't. Didn't get to say a proper good bye to someone we all loved and will miss just because these people were stingy. Pisses me off. Not everyone is rich. Not everyone wants to think about death, let alone prepare for it.

Over the years, I have had the pleasure to work with Gunderson's many times during the most difficult days of my life. Though each time was more painful than I can express, our needs were handled very professionally, respectfully and with deep kindness and care. My husband was a Monona Police Detective and a veteran of the Vietnam War. Gunderson's helped me to provide him with every possible honor, which he deserved. It made all my thoughts and dreams of honoring him come true and made a most difficult time not only bearable, but it made me happy for him that nothing was forgotten. I give them the highest praise and my complete recommendation.
We couldn't have been happier with the service we received at Gunderson. Matt was with us every step of the way. He went over our options with us and explained everything in detail. He is an exceptional coordinator, managing the entire process from beginning to end and promptly communicating the details with all parties. He did lots of "little things" that meant a lot to us; we truly received personal service. We were extremely impressed and highly recommend him.

The funeral we organized through Gunderson Funeral Home was exactly what we hoped for. Stephanie listened carefully to what we wanted as a family, made thoughtful suggestions, and helped us to put it together in a way which felt right for us. We had complete confidence in her taking care of what she committed to do. Michelle helped Stephanie with the set up and on the day, Michelle was there for us exactly when we needed. At other times respectfully in the back ground, but always fully. We were able to give Mom the goodbye we really wanted. We received many positive comments from all who attended.
